The Norfolk Island Fire Service (NIFS) has several roles within the community, the most important and highest priority being prevention and mitigation of, and education about fires.
As a service provider, the NIFS provides:
the Norfolk Island Regional Council Community Fire Service
the Aviation Rescue and Fire Fighting Service (ARFFS) to the Norfolk Island International Aerodrome
active membership to the Emergency Management Norfolk Island Committee (EMNIC).
