Economic Development
Norfolk Island is heavily reliant on tourism as a driver of economic activity. In the Norfolk Island Community Strategic Plan 2016 - 2026 Council committed to "ensure planning frameworks support economic development and growth while preserving the visual aspect, natural environment and the way of life valued by residents and visitors alike."
Part of Council’s role as detailed in the plan is to deliver an economic development strategy setting out a vision for growing the economy, including the tourism sector.
