Conclusion of Subsidy for Residential Battery Systems
As we approach the end of the financial year, Norfolk Island Regional Council (Council) would like to inform residents that the NIRC Renewable Energy Project is drawing to a close and as part of this, the subsidy for residential battery systems has now concluded. This $5.2M project funded by the Commonwealth included installation of numerous solar panels and battery systems across Council infrastructure and the subsidisation of private systems to move towards Council’s 100% renewable energy target. While the subsidy has ended, residents who have committed to installing a battery system that has yet to be installed will still receive the rebate.
Council would like to remind residents that the value of investing in a battery and solar system remains unchanged despite the conclusion of the subsidy, and additional systems will contribute to lowering the overall cost of energy generation.
